As an entrepreneur, I try to be at the top of my game on the state of the economy and politics. I enjoy discussing it with my husband and with my Father, I love to read about it, see it, watch it.. the news, the buzz, the whole thing fascinates me. As of late I am astounded by the fact that TARP has ONCE AGAIN, been shoved down our throats, and that we are sitting back and taking it. It will probably go down in history as the biggest Ponzi scheme yet. Too Big TO Fail? How about Too Rich To Bail?

Many people wonder how in the world we will ever come out of this “mess” of an economy, and the answers vary. My answer is: We will come out of this recession when, we as Americans STOP being CONSUMERS of China, and BECOME PRODUCERS in the USA. Take a look around your home or office, flip some things over….all you see is China ..Made In China. Candy at the grocery store is made in China, Juicy Juice is Made in China, Car Seats, Cribs, Baby Bottles, Clothing, … where does it end? Well, it ends here…with us. With Americans who say “Enough” . Let’s get back to PRODUCING and EXPORTING, and stop CONSUMING and IMPORTING from China. We need to do something, because our Dollar will be worthless toilet paper if we don’t so something monumental about this

Snow again in Asheville

Last evening, as my children and husband slept, the snow began sprinkling and layering softly like a blanket. So pretty and magical in the dark of night with its crystal glow of light. It was as though it was my snow, as I was the first to witness it falling. We have had more snow in Asheville these past 2 weeks, than we have for 10 years. Friday the 18th and Saturday the 19th brought 12 plus inches of the white stuff, which kept us in our house for nearly 2 days.

My funny husband disappeared that Saturday Morning following the big Friday snow, and when what to my eyes should appear out the window? HIM, SLEDDING down our hill, by himself! It was hysterical and heart warming to me. Except for his 6′2″ frame, and 48 years of age…. he was a small child in absolute delight ! I promptly sent children outside swaddled in layers of snow gear, for him to “play” with !
